Okay... so Day One went only so far. I beleive it was 18 hours. And then I let someone upset me and I gave in and smoked. Guess I'm gonna have to expect that not everything is going to run smoothly all the time. So here is Day Two. My song for today is Paper Bag by Anna Nalick. I wish I really could just walk around with my head in a paper bag. Then me and the world would not have to see each other eye to eye. But that might be rude. LOL, I don't know.
So back on the horse. But right now, back to bed for a morning nap. Until later.....

Slip up #1
Sorry to say, but I caved. I was doing so good. But the one person who I need the support from the most doesn't seem to give it. I'll try again tomorrow.
Day One Continued
16 hours into not smoking. Not as hard as I thought it would be. Sure, there are uncomfortable times, but that's when I pop the nicotine gum into my mouth and do some deep breathing. Then there are moments when I think about tonight or this coming weekend and wonder how I'm gonna get through it. Just one day at a time, right?
Went out to lunch with a friend, who is a smoker. He needed to excuse himself to go outside of the restuarant to have a cigarette and it honestly did not bother me. But the smell of cigarette is strong to me now and smokers seem to be everywhere. Did not notice how many of us there are until you put yours down.
Went to Target and stocked up on chocolate. You can never go wrong with chocolate!

Day One
Just dropped my daughter off at school. It's going to be a nice day outside. Right now there is a chill in the air, but I know it will warm up. I'm thinking what should I do. Go back to bed? Work on The Bay Buzz? Clean a room (there is plenty to clean and organize) or play on the computer? Anything but what I normally would do: smoke a cigarette. Today is my quitting day. I have no idea how the day is going to go. I guess that is up to me. But I said my goodbyes last night before I went to bed. I went through the checklist and removed all the bad stuff around me that wants to make me smoke or reminds me about it. Cigarettes - check. Lighters and ashtrays - check. Clean out car - check. Am I forgetting anything? Oh yeah, nicotine gum - check. I haven't yet started chewing the gum. I think I will do that when I the urges start really coming in like waves drowning me.
My friends have been really supportive of me. My son is cheering me on. I guess the only two people who aren't so sure if I will follow through is my husband and my oldest daughter. I don't blame them. Only time will tell.
It's early. 8:35 in the morning. I think I am going to lay down for a while and then when I get up I will get busy. There is a lot to do. Clean up kitchen. Go Christmas shopping. Have lunch with a friend. Drop off toys that The Bay Buzz collected for All Children's Hospital. Work on The Bay Buzz.
Until then.....
